looking into Datasite alternatives after one too many client complaints about pricing

by Deal_me_in_784 · Mar 18, 2026

Been working in M&A for a while now and over the past year I’ve noticed a clear shift that more clients are pushing back on Datasite, mostly around pricing and the feeling that they’re paying for features they never actually use on smaller deals. It’s frustrating when the final invoice looks nothing like the initial estimate. Usually it comes up mid-process when someone on the buy-side team starts asking why we’re not using something lighter. Honestly don’t always have a great answer ready. ...

131 Side Projects: Analysis of monthly recurring revenues (MRR), annual recurring revenues (ARR) and timelines that I collected during my research for my own Android application.

by Wissam-SY · Mar 15, 2026

Hi everyone, I'm currently building an Android app (Putting the last touches now) and I've been doing some research to understand the revenue and time to success of similar projects, mainly SaaS and apps I've compiled a list of 131 companies with their MRR, ARR, and the time it took them to become profitable. I thought this might be helpful to others here who are also looking to define their niche or assess their progress Here's the data I've collected so far, hope this will be helpful to some...

Re: CloakShare – Open-source DocSend alternative with video streaming (MIT)

by GrimLabs · Mar 7, 2026

Built this because I was paying $45/user/month for DocSend to share pitch decks. That's it. Serve pages as images, count the views, charge a fortune. Papermark is the obvious open-source answer but it's AGPL -- if you want to embed a secure doc viewer in a commercial product, that's a dealbreaker. And there's no npm package for this anywhere. If you want secure document viewing in your app today, you're writing it from scratch. CloakShare is MIT, API-first, and ships an embeddable Web ...

Papermark for fundraising in Europe?

by jumpDefendRoyal7530 · Jan 22, 2026

I'm wondering if other founders here have successfully raised funds in Europe and used Papermark as their virtual data room? I know they're positioned as the data room vendor for Europe with european hosting and all that jazz but I'm wondering about any experiences using it, if it was easy to set up, does the tracking work well, are there any features missing from other VDRs? Would you recommend it?

Best Virtual Data Room software? Real user opinions only pls..

by One_Title_6837 · Dec 1, 2025

For the longest time I genuinely thought a 'Virtual Data Room' was like one of those Gather-styled online rooms where your tiny avatars walk around nd exchange files politely. Just kidding, it’s obviously more serious, and now I actually need one. Been checking out reddit and G2 reviews and I keep seeing iDeals, Datasite, Firmex, Intralinks, etc,... But before I go ahead with any, I need your personal recommendations or warnings??[](https://www.reddit.com/submit/?source_id=t3_1pbgas9)

I'm running a wild experiment with my data room product

by mr_baibaibai · Nov 28, 2025

I recently moved to San Francisco and this is my first Thanksgiving in America. I don’t have any turkey dinners to go to… so I figured, why not do something a little wild? All the data room companies out there (Intralinks, DocSend, iDeals, etc.) are insanely expensive, and you basically have to beg just to see a demo. That’s been the status quo for as long as this industry existed. So yesterday I thought: screw it. What if I just made my data room completely free this week? To hell with DocS...

who are the tier 2 dataroom providers

by Leopard-Limited69 · Nov 24, 2025

Hello - I am looking to open up a dataroom and want to avoid Intralinks and Datasite. Any feedback on some of the tier two VDR providers? Who are they, which feature is good / unique, what are they really bad at, how is the service, is pricing transparent, should i go with pages or GB etc. thanks!
